          First flown
on 11 November 1956, the Hustler was the first bomber to exceed Mach 1.
The pod underneath the fuselage carried fuel and a nuclear weapon.  Leaving
the target in it's "clean" configuration, the B-58 could exceed Mach
2.  The Hustler was withdrawn from service in 1970. |
