Saab 340

The Saab 340 pioneered the 30 seat turboprop market but slow sales in the late 1990's lead Saab to cease production.

The prototype SF340, a joint venture between SaabScandia and Fairchild, first flew in 1983.  Fairchild left the aircraft industry in 1985 leaving Saab to market the 340.

Insufficient sales led Saab to cease production of the 340 in 1998.
