The TM-76
Mace was a tactical surface-to-surface missile that replaced the
Matador. The Mace was launched by a 100,000 lb thrust solid
fuel booster rocket, then flew to its target powered by an Allison
J33 jet engine. The first Mace flew in 1956.
The Mace was in service from 1959 until the early
1970s. Some Maces were used as target drones.
