Bristol Centaurus

The Engine Specifications
 
The Centaurus was the ultimate piston engine developed by Bristol for use in World War II and the immediate post-war period.  First run in 1938 and type tested in 1939 at 2,000 hp, the importance of this engine wasn't recognized until 1943.
