Airplanes design capabilities matured about the same time the
economy began to show some life during the Great Depression.
The resulting Sportster first flew in 1935.
Around 260 were built not including several built
in Sweden under license as the Gotaverken GV.38.
Two Sportsters were impressed into U.S. Army
service in 1942 and designated the UC-102.
