|
The Vickers Viscount originated from the Brabazon Committee proposals for post World War II civil transports, specifically for a 24 seat short/medium range transport with turboprop engines. The 32-seat Type 630 first flew in 1948 but generated no commercial interest. |
Several versions were built culminating in the 65-seat Type 810. A total of 444 were built making it the UK's most extensively built airliner of all time when production ceased in 1964. | |||||
