The B-24 first flew in 1939. The Boeing
B-17 and Consolidated B-24 were the mainstay of the
      U.S.
Army Air Forces' (USAAF) strategic air campaign against Nazi Germany in WWII.
The Liberator also saw service in North Africa and the Pacific.
            Over 18,000 were built--over 8,000 at Ford's
            Willow Run factory alone.
