The
            Wasp was Pratt & Whitney's first engine.  The
            prototype produced 425 hp (316 kW) and and weighed only 650 lb (295
            kg).  The Wasp first flew in 1926. 
      The  R-1340 was in production from 1925 - 1960.  Almost 35,000 were
      produced.
