In
the mid-50s, P&W decided to concentrate on turbine engines for
general aviation. Their first product was the PT6A.
Forty years and 34,000 engines later (not including the PT6T), the
PT6A is still a leader in the corporate and general turboprop
market.
Depending upon the model, the PT6A produces from
580 to 1,940 horsepower (432 - 1440 kW). |
