Designed
by Hawker Siddeley for the RAF, the HS.1182 Hawk first flew
on 21 August 1974. Training squadron service began late in
1976.
British Aerospace and McDonnell Douglas proposed
the Hawk to the U.S. Navy's VTXTS program in 1978. Designated
the T-45 Goshawk, this aircraft has replaced the T-2
Buckeye and TA-4 Skyhawk for intermediate
and advanced jet training. |
